Michael Buffer (born November 2, 1944) is a well-known
American boxing ring announcer.
With his tuxedo and famous catchphrase "Let's get
ready to rumble!", Buffer has become one of the most
recognized faces in the world of sports entertainment thanks
to his twenty plus years of announcing many of the biggest
championship boxing events.
Buffer's catchphrase has provided him with many media opportunities.
He has been animated in the hit animated series The Simpsons,
has been a guest of shock radio DJ Howard Stern multiple
times, provided the voice on a number one hit single "Lets
Get Ready To Rumble (USA)" and appears in boxing video
game Ready 2 Rumble. His famous phrase was on Jock Jams,
and was incorporated into the Jock Jam megamix. He even
lent his voice to the Nintendo 64 game ClayFighter 63 1/3,
where he spoke a variation of his famous phrase before every
match. He was also the special ring announcer for World
Championship Wrestling.
