Berbick Boxing Poster
One of the only known site boxing posters
for Muhammad Ali's last fight in Nassau, Bahamas on December
11, 1981 against the Canadian Trevor Berbick. Good Condition
with some creasing from where poster was folded that is
hardly visible due to the framing of this rare item. It
measures 16x22 inches and is Signed by Muhammad Ali in Gold
Sharpie and comes with Online Authentics Certificate as
well as our own certificate of Authenticity. The serial
number hologram from Online Authentics is on the back of
the poster in order to effect the image.
£3,995.00
This fight would have been a media circus today, but when
it happened nobody paid much attention. This makes any memorabilia
from this fight very rare indee. The fight between Muhammad
Ali and Trevor Berbick is also referred to as 'The Last
Hurrah' as well as the Drama In Bahama.
Rare items of Muhammad Ali Boxing Memorabilia such as this
piece, represent an ideal investment opportunity. This rare
boxing poster has been framed and is part of my own personal
collection.
Muhammad Ali was a shell of his former self when he
stepped into the ring for his final fight against Trevor
Berbick. You can see that even in 1981, he had that frozen,
Parkinson's look on his face. Like the last reviewer said,
you were afraid to watch the fight. But at the same time,
you couldn't turn away, either. But the fight really wasn't
that bad. And after eight rounds, the fight was pretty darn
close. But in rounds nine and ten. Berbick pounded on Ali,
who was looking pretty old and tired and beat up.
It was sad because you could see that Ali knew what
to do. But that he didn't have the speed or the reflexes
to pull the trigger at the right time. He would have creamed
Berbick ten years earlier. And he would have gotten the
decision even five years earlier.
But on this night, we saw an Ali who had been conquered
by Father Time.
